10/6/2012:
10:40: I am sorta awake, my wife is up getting ready for work.
11:20: I finally get up and get out of bed. I let Buster out.
11:30: My dad gets back from dropping off my wife at work, it turns out that her tire was flat. I go outside and look at the tire, and its more than flat, the steel belt has failed and is sticking out of the tire, this tire needs to be replaced. The tire in the trunk has a nail in it, but that is a simple fix. We take out the back tire, get the find the Slime Repair Kit with tire plug strips that we have in the back room. My dad gets the tools, I bring out the air compressor and get an extension cord out of my van. We use a needle nose pliers to take the nail out, and then the I use the reamer to file down the hole made by the nail. I then go to apply the rubber cement and find out that the rubber cement has completely evaporated and the tube is empty. My dad runs off to Auto Zone and buys the cheapest Slime Repair kit with patches that also contains rubber cement. It’s a nice cool day outside since the cold front just came through, so I just sit in the shade under the tree and wait for him to return.
12:30: He returns with the repair kit. I take the rubber cement out the kit, apply it to the hole in the tire, and apply it to the tire plug. I then use the plugger and force the tire repair strip in 3/4s of the way and then pull out the plugger. I then take the razor blade my dad gives me and cut the plug even with the threads of the tire. I then start looking for the jack, which I only see a jack in her car and not any of the other tools. My dad starts taking off the nuts off the tire, he gets 2 completely off, and I tell him we have to just loosen the last two and not take them off completely until we get the tire off the ground. My dad gets the hydrolic car jack out of my grandma’s car, and I loosen up the last two nuts. We then put the jack under the front the car and jack it up so that the front tire is off the ground. He takes off the last two nuts, but the tire won’t come off the lugs when he pulls it. I hit it pretty good and the tire comes loose. We take off the bad tire and put on the tire we repaired and filled and put the nuts on. I then lower the car by turning the valve on the jack to let the car down. I check the tire pressure and it is perfect, so I leave it alone, and put the cap back on the tire stem. My dad and I then pick up all the tools and head back inside.
1:15: We are back inside, we eat Big Macs from McDonalds and get some of the McDonalds Monopoly pieces.
1:30: I go get my shower. I havn’t shaved my face and head since Monday so it takes a while to catch up on the shaving. Blah easier to do it daily.
2:15: I jump in the shower.
2:25: I jump out the shower.
2:35: My dad and I head to my wife’s work, me driving her car, we drop off her car so that she can come home after work without us having to stop what we are doing then to go pick her up because we have a few things planned.
2:45: We get to her work.
2:50: We are heading back home.
3:00: We get back home, I get my keys to my van and head on over to my office.
3:10: I get to my office and pick up a monitor that I have to install for a client.
3:20: I get to the client’s location and install the new computer, monitor. I notice that the cable modem was taken out by the lightning strike that took out her old computer that she told me about, but I never actually was on site since before the strike. I run back to my office and pick up a modem and a router and then back to the client’s location to replace those as well. I call up Cox to change the modem information on the account so that the new modem can get online. Once the new modem is online everything else is working with no issues. I remove all the default programs that are just a waste of space and processing power. I then show the client how to use the computer. The client will also need a new printer because of the old one is having issues with Windows 7 64 bit. I will get one this week.
5:30: I am heading back to my office.
5:40: I get to my office and record the serial numbers of the equipment I installed, and then put all the trash in the hallway to be taken away later.
7:30: After some basic cleaning, I head on home, after my wife called me telling me that she was home. She brought home some ribs, yummy! We also have some sausage and a tomato meat sauce over pasta that my mom was cooking throughout the day.
8:30: My wife and I go lay in bed and watch TV and I am a little tired and just doze off.
11:30: I wake up, get up to get something to drink, and then go back to laying in bed watching an Adam Sandler Movie 😛
11:59: Adam Sandler is still on, a good day overall!
